Aubrey Allen Nichols, Sr., 74, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was called home on August 6, 2022. Aubrey was the Manager of Scooter’s for many years and everyone he met loved him. He made numerous life-long friendships from his managing Scooter’s along with the many wonderful memories, not just with customers he considered family, but with his own family as well. Aubrey will be missed for many reasons including his welcoming smile, his sense of humor and unique laugh, his big heart, and the way he could tell you a story, he was a great storyteller and people loved to listen. Aubrey enjoyed his family, friendships, trips to Panama City Beach and his love for Alabama football and old-time country music. He will be greatly missed by many. Aubrey is preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Hayes, his father, Jesse Barney Nichols, brothers; James Nichols, David Nichols, William “Bill” Nichols, Jesse “Bert” Nichols, his sisters; Ruth Watson, Lexie Lawrence, Ora Jean Nichols, Audrey Jean Rainey, and his son, Eric “Charlie” Nichols. He is survived by his brother; John Nichols, daughters; Cindi Taylor (Jerry), Jennifer Nichols (Kevin), sons; AJ and Brian Nichols; grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, special cousins Jeanette Walters and Doug Cooper, his dear friend, Larry Dunn and many more loving family and friends. There will be two separate Celebration of Life ceremonies held at Scooter’s, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, one for family and another for Scooter’s family. Those dates will be announced at a later time.
