Danny Alan PeaceDanny Alan Peace, age 73, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on May 18th , 2022. He was born on October 15th, 1948 in Anderson, South Carolina to Arthur and Billie Peace. Dan is survived by his wife, Sharon Peace; brother, Stephen (Eustia) Peace; his daughter, Kelly Lynn, along with her husband, Pope Kelly; three stepdaughters, Candi Daniel, Jessica Dodson, and Meagan (Alley) Daniel; his niece, Helena (Mike) Jonas; mother-in-law, Carolyn Pritchett; brothers-in- law, Frank (Cheryl) Pritchett, David (Stacey) Pritchett; sister- in- law, Karen Jonasson; his beloved cat fur babies, Sugarlily and Ollie, and seven grandchildren that he adored, Ashlyn, Ella, Brady, Cody, Easton, Addie and Bennett. He was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews by marriage, relatives, and friends. Dan was preceded in death by both parents, stepdaughter, Wendy Daniel Flatt, and his beloved dachshund fur babies, Bindi and Ledger. Dan was a 1967 graduate of Bass High School in Atlanta, GA. Later in life, he graduated from Faulkner University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. After serving in the Army as a military police officer, Dan went to work for Rich’s Department Store, followed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 10 years. Dan retired after 25 years with General Electric, where he was Area Sales Manager over the Appliance Division. Dan stated, that he was very fortunate to have worked for GE, a job that he loved. He was also known for being a prankster. He could be heard over the phone or in the presence of his business associates/dealers saying, “This is your parole officer.” Dan loved the reactions from the customers that were standing nearby. Dan was an active member of the Alabama Civil War Round Table, where he served as President. He loved visiting historical war sites, enactments, and old cemeteries. Dan was a faithful member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church where he served many years as head usher. Dan was known to greet members and visitors asking, “Smoking or non-smoking section?” This always brought a smile to those in attendance. Dan loved teaching young men the art of ushering. The celebration of his life will be held at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama with Pastor Jim Frazier officiating on Monday June 27, 2022. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM with service following at 11:00 AM. A brief committal service for family will follow the main service.
