Delilah (Della) Melford Denny Piekarski

Delilah (Della) Melford Denny Piekarski, age 88, of Pearl River, LA passed away peacefully after a long illness surrounded by family on March
17, 2023. She was born in the town of Englee in the province of Newfoundland, Canada on July 18, 1934. It was in Newfoundland that she met her future husband of 64 years, Charles, where he was stationed as a corporal on active duty in the U.S. Army. Della loved traveling with her husband and enjoyed shopping for antiques. She had an outgoing, vibrant personality that made a lasting impression on all who met her. She was a generous soul often surprising a family member or friend with food or a gift to brighten their day. She relished celebrating her loved ones' birthdays and enjoyed having her family around her and cooking for holidays and family gatherings. Whether stopping by for a short visit or an extended stay, no one ever left hungry. She was the devoted wife of Charles Paul Piekarski who predeceased her in 2019, and the mother of Pauline Howland (Bruce), Brian Piekarski
(Cathy), and Sandra Piekarski. Also, grandmother of Amanda McKenzie (Matt), Timothy Piekarski, Leah Lewis (Trey), Jessica Siener (Will), Tricia Piekarski, and Kristen Piekarski. Great-grandmother of Brinley, Maddie, Isaac Poppy, Micah Charles, Selah, Cecil, and Makayla. She was predeceasedby her parents, Matthew and Emeline Denny. A graveside burial of ashes service will be held at a later date at St. Stanislaus
Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
