James M. “Jimmy” Minner, of Maylene, AL, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the age of 55. Jimmy was born in Wilmington Delaware on February 18, 1967. He graduated from Alexis I. du Pont High School in 1985 and worked as a Reserve with the Shelby County Sheriffs Department after moving with his family to Alabama. He became an Alabama State Trooper after graduating from the academy. Following his time with the State Troopers, he began a career in the hotel industry with Marriott. He enjoyed golf, was a devoted Auburn fan, and a dog lover. He supported animal rescues and adopted two Dobermans, Casey and Dorie, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed traveling and his favorite places were Ireland and Gatlinburg, TN. Jimmy had a kind heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. Jimmy is survived by his parents James F. Minner and Bernice Minner; brother Jeffrey Minner (Jennifer) and niece Kennedy Minner; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
