Peter Charles Quagliana, 73, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, February 13, 2023, on a road trip to visit national parks. He was a voracious reader and traveled to almost every U.S. national park. He pursued his passion for birdwatching and hiking in all 50 U.S. states, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Europe. He loved sharing his joy of cooking, music, art and nature with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Susan Dennison; sisters Joan Quagliana and Mary (Carlos Vazquez) Qualiana; sons, David (Heather) Quagliana and Daniel (Hilary) Quagliana; stepchildren, Benjamin (Sami) Brenner and Elizabeth (Timo Roettger) Brenner; former wife, Diane Quagliana; and seven grandchildren: Drew, Izzy, Tommy, Lucas, Noa, Leni and Zeke. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Tuscaloosa county and city law enforcement, EMTs and staff of the DCH Regional Medical Center for their assistance during this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Chicago, Illinois. In Peter’s memory, friends may make donations to the National Parks Foundation.
