In the early evening hours of Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, Raymond Chase Kuykendall unexpectedly passed from this world. He spent his final hours at his home in Birmingham, Alabama. Chase was born on July 5th, 1989, in Birmingham and is survived by his mother, Kimberly D. Brumbeloe, father, Phillip R. Kuykendall, sister Harlie (Adam) Bathe, as well as his loving pup Sushi. He has left to join his grandfather William G. Brumbeloe and his grandparents, Raymond & Betty Kuykendall, whom he loved dearly and by whom he was dearly loved. To the people who truly knew him, Chase was a wickedly intelligent, charismatic, talented, and passionate person who felt deeply and was a fiercely loyal friend. He radiated vibrant energy and zeal for life that warmed the world and the people around him. Chase communicated best through music and found his voice in the songs he wrote and the bands in which he played. He was a skilled musician whose influence and involvement in the Birmingham Punk and DIY scenes will be remembered forever. Chase recently shared with his mother the optimism he had about his future and the plans he was creating for his life. We mourn not only the life that was but the unfortunate end to a story that had just begun a new and exciting chapter. Services have been organized to celebrate the life of Chase and will be open to the entire community who knew him. There will be an interactive memorial art piece where attendees can share special moments and memories. A living memorial will be created and shared on his Social Media, where family and friends can continue to add memories and see ones posted by others. This celebration of life will be held at True Story Brewing in Crestwood on Friday, August 4th, from 3-6 pm, with a Punk Rock Night Event and live bands to follow after. If you have any questions or would like to offer help of some kind, please contact his sister Harlie Bathe or his mother, Kim Brumbeloe.
