Ronald Fredrick Thompson was born at home in Birmingham, Alabama, on April 3rd, 1938. He passed away following a brain bleed on July 22nd, 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Thompson, his parents: Bernice Alna Thompson and Lena Mae Counts Thompson, and his two brothers. Ron graduated from Ramsey High School and the University of Alabama School of Law. He spent his life career of 45 years practicing law. Ron also served in the Alabama Air National Guard and was ordered to France during the Berlin Crisis. Ron was always a gifted singer, having sung in the Mobile Opera as well as several church choirs in the Birmingham area. His final choir was the Senior Adult Choir at Mountain Brook Baptist Church. Ron will be missed by his many devoted friends, including his companion, Ina Faye Anderson, the young woman who came to be known as his granddaughter, Emma Noble, and his close friend, Peggy Bales.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain Brook Baptist Church on August 9th at 2:00 pm.
