Stephen Robert Brennan, 63, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, November 4th, 2022. He was born April 29, 1959 to John Robert Brennan and JoAnn Eisterhold in Evansville, Indiana. As a teen, the family relocated to Birmingham, AL where he graduated from Shades Valley High School. Stephen, better known as Steve to most, was a dedicated husband, father, and employee. He was employed with the Vestavia Hills City School System for 19 years. He began his career at Vestavia as a school bus driver for students with special needs, which was his true calling. In the most recent years, he became a custodian for Pizitz Middle School. His “Pizitz family” was very special to him. In his early life, he was a dedicated Boy Scout, eventually becoming an Eagle Scout. He proudly visited and hiked through Philmont Boy Scout Camp nine times.Steve thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and was a Property Manager at two local summer camps. Steve enjoyed grilling, cooking and spending time with family. He was an avid NASCAR fan and cheered for Notre Dame, Auburn, and Oregon State football. He is survived by his wife, Ann Hutchison Brennan; brother, Johnny Brennan; daughter, Caitlin (Hunter) Thorington and grandchildren: MaryBrennan, Porter, Douglas; stepson, Carter (Ashley) Hutchison and grandchildren: Valen, Jameson. A service is to be held on Sunday, November 20th at Chapel in the Pines | 2801 Stemley Bridge Road, Cropwell, AL 35054. A celebration of life will follow at On Tap | 11967 Liberty Parkway, Vestavia, AL 35242. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Chapel in the Pines through Pell City United Methodist Church.
