Thomas Edwin Griffin

Thomas Edwin Griffin, 76, of Concord, Alabama, peacefully passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family.

Thomas, fondly known as Tommy, was born to Lee Edwin Griffin and Thelma Elliot Griffin on July 1, 1946. He was a loving father and husband with many friends. Early on in life, he served in The United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant deployed in Libya. He retired from Drummond Coal after 39 years of employment and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and many friends. 

Tommy is survived by his wife, Joann Carter Griffin of Hueytown, Alabama; brother Terry Griffin (Ann Griffin) of Hueytown, AL; daughters Amanda Griffin Eaton (Kenny Eaton) of Auburn, AL, Jenny Griffin Raymond (Stevie Raymond) of Hueytown, AL; grandchildren Jackson Eaton, Dylan Eaton, and Sophie Raymond. Tommy is also leaving behind extended family many loyal friends that will miss his continuous smile and delightful disposition. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Pro Health Hospice for their compassion and care.

Tommy’s family will host a visitation on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm with a short service to follow. This service will be at Cross Way Baptist Church 1080 9th Avenue SW Bessemer, Alabama 35022.
