Geoff was born 10/24/1961 in Jacksonville, AL. During his life journey, as a young man he lived in Marianna, FL and moved to Mobile, AL with his family where he later attended Vigar Highschool. Geoff had a love for the outdoors. He played sports; baseball, basketball and football at different stages of his life. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends. A couple of his favorite places to fish was Dauphin Island and Dog River in Mobile, AL. Another favorite place was Tybee Island in Savannah, GA. He also loved Wood Working as a hobby. Geoff had a love for cars and in his younger years he had a 1973 Dodge Charger. He kept it tuned up and it would run like a dream! He worked at a service station where he learned a lot about working on vehicles that included towing services. His best friend since elementary school was Johnny Gatlin. They played sports together and eventually worked together for a while. With his love for the outdoors, he decided to chance his luck one afternoon with a new job opportunity. He landed a job with Asplundh Tree Service in Mobile, AL where he was eventually being promoted to Lead Foreman.

In his later years, Geoff found himself in Savannah, GA where he worked for the City of Savannah Parks and Recreation department. He was a Supervisor and ran a Tree Crew that maintained the Trees in downtown Savannah. He studied and became a certified Tree Arborist.

He married his second wife, Janet and they had two children; Jonathan and Melanie. He had an opportunity to forego his career and stay home with the children. His new life work became raising his children to the best of his ability. He learned in those years the joys and trials of being the main caregiver to Johnathan and Melanie. He also learned how to cook a mean steak and perfected his hand at poker.

Geoff began his “health journey” in November of 2022 after moving to Brookwood, AL. In December of 2022 he had a two week stay in the hospital. He came home in Jan, 2023 and on March 1st of 2023 received a cancer diagnosis.

Geoff had a heart of gold! He was a strong, resilient, tough, kind and stubborn Man and that carried him through his life’s journey. He had a beautiful smile and gorgeous bright blue eyes. He liked listening to music, eating fruit and spending time talking with us and others that came to visit. He gave the best hugs! He shared a lot of himself with us and we learned a lot about him in a short period of time. Early on, we agreed he would not be alone and we would take advantage of every second we had with him. It was like trying to spend a lifetime with someone in whatever time we had together during the year and a half, before the end of his health journey, December 10, 2023.

Love You Always & Forever, Your Family
Geoff’s favorite song was “Over the Rainbow.”
In Geoff’s words, “Peace and Love, God is PERFECT!”
